Increasingly, the Oxfordshire Family Historian has a number of web links in it. In future, and for past issues as time permits, we will be offering these links here to save you typing them in from the printed page.

The LINK Scheme
This is a service provided within the Society for members who are unable to travel to the Record Offices which house the information which they need. Most of England and parts of Scotland, Wales, Australia, Canada, Holland, New Zealand and the U.S.A. are covered by O.F.H.S. members who are willing to do a small amount of specific research for either out-of-pocket expenses or reciprocal research. Research requests should be sent to the LINK Secretary (at the Holford Centre, see below) enclosing two stamped envelopes (International Reply Coupons if abroad). One envelope should be left BLANK – this is used to send the request on to a researcher; the other self-addressed – this is used to send the completed research back to the enquirer. The aim is to do the necessary research within six weeks or say why it cannot be done. Please note that this service is operated by volunteers at the Holford Centre.
